Tom Parkinson appointed as Managing Director in London to strengthen the firm's carve-out capabilities

ALVAREZ & MARSAL ADDS TO PRIVATE EQUITY PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT TEAM WITH SENIOR CARVE-OUT EXPERT

London, 12th January 2026 - Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has appointed Tom Parkinson as a Managing Director in its Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice, based in London.

His appointment marks the fifth new PEPI Managing Director hire in the past six months, following the arrivals of Simon Oertel in September and Javier Hernando Guijarro in December as well as Pierre de Raismes from Bain and Co in September and David Perez from BCG in June to lead the financial services and healthcare sectors in the Private Equity space across Europe. The continued expansion reflects A&M’s commitment to supporting private equity clients across Europe in driving value creation and operational excellence.

Tom joins A&M from EY-Parthenon, where he was an Equity Partner in the Private Equity team. He specialises in carve out due diligence and separation execution in operationally complex transactions, as well as synergy identification and realisation during complex merger integrations, advising investors and portfolio companies across the full deal lifecycle.

He will join the Carve-out and Merger Integration team within the wider PEPI practice, bringing significant experience in large, transformational carve-outs and complex separation and integration programmes. His expertise spans the full investment cycle, with a focus on pre-deal due diligence, deal execution, and post-deal value creation.

Amit Laud, Managing Director and Co-Head of the European Private Equity Performance Improvement team at Alvarez & Marsal, said: “As we continue to strengthen our capabilities across Europe in the areas our private equity clients value most, Tom’s hands-on experience leading transformational carve-out and merger integration programmes across sectors will further enhance our ability to support clients from diligence through to execution. His appointment reflects our continued focus on deepening our operational expertise and will further enhance our ability to deliver measurable results for clients”

Dominic Orchard, Managing Director, said: “Carve-outs remain one of the most challenging transaction types for investors, demanding a rare combination of strategic insight and operational precision. Tom’s depth of experience across due diligence, carve-out execution and post-merger transformation will further enhance our ability to support clients from the start through to long-term value delivery. His arrival strengthens our rapidly growing European carve-out and merger integration team and reinforces A&M’s reputation as the partner of choice for complex separation work.”

On his appointment, Tom said: “A&M has an outstanding reputation for operational excellence and for working side by side with clients to deliver lasting results. Having spent much of my career focused on carve-outs and performance improvement, I am looking forward to helping further strengthen A&M’s capabilities in this area and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.”
