Javier Hernando
Mr. Hernando brings more than 25 years of experience in professional services, including significant international experience. He helps CFOs drive impact and deliver strategic value in both private equity and corporate environments. His areas of focus include 100-day plans, finance target operating model design, interim CFO support, cash and working capital optimization, and financial efficiency, process improvement, and reporting enhancement. Mr. Hernando works with clients across a wide range of industries, supporting CFOs and finance organizations to drive efficiency, enhance financial performance, and align the finance function with strategic business objectives.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Hernando spent eight years with EY as a financial auditor. He then spent 17 years with PwC in financial consulting, where he led complex transformation projects, treasury and working capital initiatives, large-scale finance effectiveness programs, valuations, and financial due diligence engagements. He also gained international experience with a secondment in Dublin, which broadened his global perspective and cross-cultural leadership capabilities.
Mr. Hernando earned a BBA from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), an MBA from ThePowerMBA, a master’s degree in financial markets from the National University of Distance Education (UNED), and a senior management program diploma from IE Business School. He has completed several courses on valuation and financial accounting. Mr. Hernando is also a registered auditor (ROAC). He has co-authored the leadership book El Cubo del Líder, is a certified executive coach, and serves as a professor at IE Business School, Madrid, where he lectures on finance and leadership. A native Spanish speaker, Mr. Hernando is also fluent in English.
