Mr. Orchard brings more than 15 years of advisory expertise in private equity and professional services. He has led engagements across automotive manufacturing, general industrials, insurance, telecommunications, food and beverage, education and retail sectors.
Most recently, Mr. Orchard led the pre-deal operational due diligence for an acquisition of an international telecommunications group, identifying key people-related issues and risks, as well as validating potential cost and revenue synergies.
He has also advised a buying consortium in assessing the separation plans of a supermarket retailer, with operations in Hong Kong and China, from its holding company. The proposed transaction required an operational due diligence and assessment to understand the operational complexities of the separation as well as the expected costs and risks to operational integrity.
Among his other notable engagements, Mr. Orchard led the pre and post-deal planning and implementation for a global automotive group in the establishment of its manufacturing and distribution joint venture with a Chinese state-owned enterprise. Mr. Orchard led a pre-signing assessment of potential cost synergies and the pre-deal integration assessment for an international insurer in a proposed acquisition in Malaysia. Additionally, he led the regional integration and performance optimization for a global U.K.-listed education and publishing group on its acquisition of an education business headquartered in Beijing.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Orchard was a Partner with KPMG in Hong Kong and China, overseeing operational due diligence, carve-outs and post-merger integration services. He has also served as a director with 3i Group Plc. in London and Hong Kong and led the company's portfolio performance improvement across Asia.
Mr. Orchard earned a master's degree in management and e-commerce from the University of London and a bachelor's degree in geography from the University of Southampton. He is a member of the Project Management Institute.
