Focusing on the design and implementation of holistic restructuring and performance improvement programmes, he has a proven track record as CRO and Interim CFO. Mr. Stohner has overseen engagements throughout Europe, China and the U.S., serving clients across a range of industries, including renewable energies, manufacturing, engineering, automotive, retail and consumer goods.
Currently, he is supporting an Austrian injection moulding company with its financial and operational restructuring. He is also leading a team with a publicly-listed company in Vienna and their reorganisation of a production site in Asia.
Prior to that, Mr. Stohner led a team that helped a German-based integrated fashion retailer with the design and implementation of a comprehensive restructuring program. The realisation of significant cost-reduction and cash-saving measures set the basis to realize a successful going-concern sale.
For nearly two years at A&M, he led a successful financial and operational restructuring of a Chinese owned global Tier-1 automotive supplier in the industry of innovative surfaces for the interiors of premium vehicles.
Mr. Stohner also helped a prominent German family office with its strategic and structural realignment, as well as the reorganisation and transformation of selected portfolio companies. He was responsible for the restructuring of a U.S.-based manufacturer of thin-film solar panels and portable chargers and conducted the commercial negotiations during the successful sale to a strategic investor in China. Further, he was appointed as Chief Restructuring Adviser by a publicly listed clean tech company and played a significant role in ensuring a syndicated loan of about €0.4 billion.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Stohner served as Managing Partner of a German turnaround management boutique firm with a focus on evaluating and implementing solutions for companies in distress. Further, he worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers and was leading restructuring teams at the Munich and London offices focusing on German and cross-border restructuring cases.
Mr. Stohner studied at the University of Regensburg and the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. He earned a master’s degree in economics (Diplom-Volkswirt) from the University of Regensburg. A German national, he is fluent in German and English.
