Paul Aversano

For over 30 years, Mr. Aversano has led both buy- and sell-side financial and accounting due diligence projects for complex public and private company transactions, as well as transactions in the capital markets. He specializes in assessing quality of earnings and GAAP/IFRS accounting, providing accounting and transaction structuring advice for leveraged buyouts, purchase accounting, and Securities and Exchange Commission reporting.
Mr. Aversano works to deliver A&M’s services to clients globally. He leads the firm’s efforts in delivering cross-border services to private equity firms, sovereign wealth funds, and family offices, as well as to corporate and strategic buyers around the world across a wide spectrum of industries.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Aversano was a partner with EY in New York and Director of Middle Market Private Equity. He led financial accounting due diligence projects for private equity investor groups as well as the development and coordination of the firm’s go-to-market and service delivery strategies focused on the private equity market. Previously, he was with Arthur Andersen’s Transaction Advisory Services and Audit practice in New York.
Mr. Aversano earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Binghamton University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in New York and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New York State Society of CPAs, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He serves on the board of directors and audit committees of both the New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund (Answer the Call) and PowerPlay NYC. He is a former member of the board of directors of Youth INC, the audit committee of the Manhasset Public Schools Board of Education, and the Alumni Association Board of Directors of Binghamton University. Mr. Aversano represents A&M on the planning committee of the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business Private Equity and Alternative Investments Summit, in parallel with the firm’s anchor corporate sponsorship of the school’s DIAG Growth Private Equity Investment Fund – a practical learning experience for students to gain real-world exposure to private equity and alternative investments.
