Senior hire to strengthen carve-out and merger integration capabilities across Europe

London, 14th July 2026 – Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has appointed Bernd Oehring as a Managing Director in its Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice. Based in Germany, he will work across Europe as part of the firm’s Carve-out and Merger Integration team.

His appointment follows the arrival of Tom Parkinson and Sushank Agarwal as Managing Directors in London earlier this year and reflects A&M’s ongoing investment in building out its European PEPI capabilities to better support clients in driving operational excellence and long-term performance. The continued expansion of the team further enhances A&M’s ability to support private equity and corporate clients across the continent through complex carve-outs, merger integrations and transformation programmes.

Bernd joins A&M with experience spanning operational consulting, private equity investing and investment banking. He began his career at J.P. Morgan before moving into carve out consulting at Oliver Wyman. Subsequently Bernd joined a mid-sized private equity sponsor and delivered value creation programs for portfolio companies. Most recently, he served as a Partner at Oliver Wyman, where he co-led Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions in Europe. Drawing on experience as a banker, investor and consultant, he advises financial sponsors and corporates across the full deal lifecycle, specialising in carve-outs and post-merger integration, as well as strategy, due diligence, value creation and corporate finance.

He will further fortify the Carve-out and Merger Integration team within the wider PEPI practice, adding significant experience across complex transactions, separation and integration programmes. His appointment will consolidate the firm’s ability to support clients across the full transaction lifecycle.
