Mr. Simons brings over 33 years’ experience advising multinational and local companies on taxation and business regulations for Thai business activities.
For the last 24 years, he has focused on advising clients on Thai TP regulations. Mr. Simons has led engagements for clients in a wide range of industries, including food and beverage, fashion, electronics and electrical, chemical, pharmaceutical, automotive, and trading. The services he provides include TP documentation, TP planning and value chain alignment, TP audit, mutual agreement procedures, and advance pricing arrangements (APAs). Mr. Simons led the Thailand engagement teams for the first bilateral APAs agreed by the Revenue Department of Thailand.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Simons spent 21 years with Deloitte, most recently serving as Thailand TP Lead. He also spent 10 years as the Deloitte Southeast Asia TP Services Lead, with responsibility for building the practice across the region, and 12 years as the Thailand Global Trade Advisory Lead, with responsibility for advising clients on local customs regulations, including use of customs privilege schemes.
Mr. Simons earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Western Australia and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He is a regular contributor of articles to technical publications such as the International Tax Review (ITR) and local newspapers such as The Nation. He has been recognized by Euromoney as a “leading TP advisor” and by the ITR as a “highly regarded practitioner.”
