Benjamin Reick is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in Munich. He specializes in complex carve-outs and value creation projects, especially in the chemicals, automotive and services sectors.

With more than 10 years of dedicated consulting experience, Mr. Reick brings a proven track record of successfully leading complex international transaction and transformation programs, including operational/carve-out due diligence, carve-out planning and execution, post merger integration, 13-week cash flow forecasting and performance improvement.

Most recently, Mr. Reick led the buy-side carve-out due diligence on a British energy business, analyzing separation complexities, standalone and one-time costs and transitional service agreements. He has also managed a value creation program in the services sector with the goal of increasing EBITDA by more than 30% within 12 months, including headcount reduction, administrative streamlining and further SG&A efficiencies.

Previously, Mr. Reick was responsible for the operational carve-out of Evonik’s global TAA derivatives business and advised in planning and implementing the carve-out, including separating a highly entangled production site in a German chemical park; drafting 50+ product and service relations between buyer and seller; a joint venture transfer in China; a Day-1 readiness check; and expert sessions with the buyer. Due to rigorous program management, the carve-out was completed within a short period of time and the transaction was successfully closed during challenging macroeconomic conditions.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Reick spent six years with Deloitte in the firm’s operational transaction services practice in Munich, where he most recently served as Senior Manager. He advised multinational corporations in carve-outs, post merger integrations and operational and financial due diligences.

Mr. Reick earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics and management from the University of the Federal German Armed Forces in Munich. He is a CFA charterholder. A German national, Mr. Reick is fluent in German and English.
