• Practice will provide comprehensive, independent tax advisory services to private equity sponsors, alternative investment firms and multinational corporates operating in Sweden and internationally

Stockholm, 8th June 2026 – Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) will continue the expansion of its international Tax capabilities with the launch of a new practice in Sweden. The firm has reached an agreement with Magnus Pantzar to join as Managing Director and lead the country practice, with an expected start date of 1^st August 2026.

The newly established practice will support clients operating in Sweden and abroad – including private equity sponsors and portfolio companies, alternative investment managers and multinational corporates and founder-led and high-growth businesses. It will provide transaction tax services, tax structuring and private capital advisory, management incentives and value creation, exit and IPO readiness and international tax. The launch meets growing demand for independent, conflict-free tax advice across complex cross-border transactions, fund structuring, and portfolio value creation.

Mr Pantzar is a specialist in tax structuring and transaction tax advisory for private equity and other alternative investment clients. He is also an expert in tax structuring and modelling, tax due diligence, management participation programmes, exit and IPO readiness, and overall transaction and project management.

He will bring more than 25 years’ experience advising on complex cross-border matters across the full lifecycle of private equity transactions. He will join A&M from EQT, where he spent over a decade as Global Head of Tax & Structuring, leading the firm’s international tax strategy, including advising on fund and transaction structuring as well as compliance frameworks. He previously served as a Partner at EY in Stockholm, where he led the Nordic Private Equity Transaction Tax team. Before that he was a tax adviser at PwC in Stockholm and London, focusing on M&A tax transactions.
