Mark Bennett is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal FI Performance Improvement team in London.

He brings more than 15 years of experience in the financial sector. His primary areas of concentration are transformation, cost reduction and performance improvement.

Mr. Bennett’s notable assignments include coordinating 10+ projects within the framework of a large-scale transformation program for a major French Bank focusing on short-term cost reduction and process optimization, managing a short-term cost and process optimisation project for the finance function of a French Bank, managing an IT application decommissioning project for a French CIB and managing the ground pilot project and subsequently coordinating a global cost reduction program for a CIB where he managed 12 consultants and coordinated up to 250 consultants on 20 projects in 15 countries.

Additionally, Mr. Bennett has been responsible for designing and implementing a transformation plan for the finance function of a CIB, in a mix of bottom-up (short-term cost optimisation) and top-down (target-operating-model evolution) approaches, designing a Target Operating Model for Middle and Back Offices of a major French Retail Bank notably to improve client servicing, optimise resources allocation and reduce cost base and performing a strategic review and conducting operational improvement initiatives for an African banking group as part of a three-year business plan and anticipated initial public offering.

Mr. Bennett started his career as a Group Inspector within BNP Paribas where he audited subsidiaries and business units in North America, Europe and Asia and covered counterparty, finance & operational risks within Retail Banking, CIB and Specialised Services businesses. He subsequently joined BNP Paribas’ Group Financial Management department where he managed financial engineering projects, monitored due diligence processes and conducted business plan reviews.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Bennett worked for AlixPartners and Roland Berger. 

Mr. Bennett earned a master’s degree in finance and business administration from ESCP Europe Business School. He is a French-British national and is fluent in French and English.
