• The Managing Director, based in Barcelona, brings 25 years of experience in the retail and QSR sectors to A&M’s growing practice

Barcelona, 4^th December, 2025 – Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has bolstered its Corporate Transformation Services capabilities with the appointment of seasoned consumer, hospitality and retail industry expert, Ivan Kotov, as a Managing Director. The senior hire, based in Barcelona, meets growing demand for A&M’s sector-focused value creation services across Europe, and follows the practice’s expansion to Spain in 2024.

With strong expertise across the food & beverage, grocery, quick-service restaurant (QSR), and hospitality industries, Mr Kotov supports executive teams at family-owned, private equity-backed, and public companies on strategy, operational excellence and digital transformation. He brings more than 25 years of experience in retail and QSR sectors, having led commercial transformations, procurement and organisational development across diverse markets, including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the United States.

Mr Kotov’s prior operating experience includes executive roles in the food & beverage sector – from co-founding a coffee bar chain, to overseeing transformation and digital strategy for a QSR chain with more than 700 locations, and driving development strategy for one of the leading QSR chains in Western Europe. He holds an Haute Cuisine Chef Diploma from the Culinary Institute of Barcelona.
