Alvarez & Marsal appoints The Honourable Greg Hunt as a Senior Advisor bolstering its Healthcare and Public Sector advisories in support of maximizing sustainable value for clients

SYDNEY, 27 May, 2025 – Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has announced the appointment of The Honourable Greg Hunt as a Senior Advisor to its Australian practice.

Mr. Hunt’s combined expertise of senior-level government, academic, and commercial experience across health, environment, and innovation will provide A&M clients with the perspectives necessary to navigate continued market disruption at home and abroad. A former Australian Cabinet Minister, he served as Minister for Health and Aged Care from 2017 to 2022. During this time, he oversaw an annual budget of $132 billion, 17 portfolio agencies, and a team of 7,000 staff, showcasing his exceptional leadership and capacity for managing complex operations. He also led Australia’s nationally and internationally recognised response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to his public service career, Mr. Hunt is Honorary Enterprise Professor at the University of Melbourne (Medicine and Economics), Honorary Professor at University College London, and Chair of both the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health Advisory Council and Novartis Foundation’s CARDIO4Cities global steering committee. He advises a wide range of businesses and non-profits across innovation, health, environment, and strategy.

Before entering Parliament, he also served as Associate to the Chief Justice of the Federal Court.

A Fulbright Scholar with a Master’s from Yale University and First Class Honours in Law from the University of Melbourne, Professor Hunt brings over two decades of legislative, advisory, and boardroom experience to A&M’s expanding integrated platform in Oceania and Asia-Pacific.
