IES SLDS Grant Considerations: College and Career

In order to make important connections between investments in learning and improved living outcomes, it is imperative for statewide longitudinal data systems (SLDS) to provide better insights on the student journey from K-12 to college and career. The 2023 IES grant awards for SLDS is an important opportunity for state applicants to secure resources to help build their capabilities and capacity to understand and learn about successful transitions from education to workforce to inform policies and programs.

This paper is part of a series drafted in collaboration between Alvarez & Marsal Public Sector, LLC and the Council of Chief State School Officers in the interest of highlighting strategic considerations for state education agencies pursuing 2023 state longitudinal data system grants from the US Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences.
