Scott Foster is a Managing Director and the Canadian Practice Leader with Alvarez & Marsal’s Global Transaction Advisory Group in Toronto. He brings more than 20 years of M&A, corporate finance and audit experience.

Mr. Foster focuses on working with private equity, pension plan and corporate clients to provide buy- and sell-side integrated M&A advisory services. He provides financial, commercial and operational due diligence. Mr. Foster has considerable experience in the waste management and environmental services sectors, having advised on more than 200 transactions in the United States and Canada.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Foster served as the Canadian Leader of KPMG’s Transaction Services Practice, where he built the Commercial Due Diligence and Strategy practice. Previously, he led Deloitte’s Canadian M&A Transaction Services Group.

Prior to that, Mr. Foster was the corporate development leader at one of North America’s largest non-hazardous waste management companies, overseeing M&A and operational activities. He led due diligence on all major acquisitions, including a U.S. $600 million acquisition of an integrated solid waste company.

Mr. Foster earned an HBA from Ivey Business School at Western University.
