Remuneration continues to take center stage and remains under scrutiny as we move out of the pandemic. At the same time, the UK government, regulators, and investors are toughening their expectations for best practice and reporting. The appropriateness of many of the decisions taken by companies during the pandemic was assessed by shareholders at this year's Annual General Meetings (AGMs). Unsurprisingly, not every decision taken during the pandemic was met with approval.
During EQ's recent Shareholder Voice 2021 conference, industry experts including A&M's Executive Compensation team met on the Remuneration and Governance panel to discuss five key themes affecting companies today:
- Moderation of executive pay outcomes
- Aligning executive director pensions with workforce levels
- Increasing use of ESG metrics
- Investors voting against remuneration proposals
- Issues with workforce and talent supply going into 2022
Watch A&M’s Executive Compensation team and Prism Cosec’s Simon Maynard discuss best practices and share fresh insights on how to find the right balance across all your stakeholders.
