Eight new Managing Directors and a total of 50 consultants join A&M Spain aligning digital transformation capabilities across all advisory practices

Madrid - Leading global professional service firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), has appointed eight new Managing Directors in Spain to expand its Digital Services offerings in alignment with its financial institutions, risk and regulatory, transaction and performance improvement practice groups. These hires represent A&M’s commitment to help clients, regionally, nationally and internationally, leverage digital technologies to transform their financial performance and maximize their growth opportunities.

The new team of Madrid-based Managing Directors, led by Arturo Derteano, includes Jordi Flores, Pablo Palma, Julio San Jose, José Luis García Ortega, Pablo Sainz, Ventura Palmerola and Manuel Pingarrón. They will advise A&M’s financial institution clients across EMEA on revenue generation opportunities and new business models using disruptive technologies such as blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Collectively, this team has experience creating a behavioral economics unit at a leading Spanish bank, developing a blockchain platform for a global asset manager’s fund distribution, digitizing processes of a leading digital bank and generating revenues of more than €2 billion for global banks.

 A&M Spain has also hired 50 new digital services professionals to work with the eight new Managing Directors. All the new joiners are part of a joint initiative between A&M’s Financial Services practice, led by Fernando de la Mora, a Managing Director and the Head of Alvarez & Marsal Spain and Portugal, and Jean Laurent Poitou, a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal in Paris heading EMEA Digital Services. These hires advance A&M Spain’s growth strategy and its revenue generation and digital transformation approach. They follow on the recent appointment of Global Transaction Advisory group Managing Directors, Cristina Almeida and Ignacio Basagoiti, and the signing of Pepe Corral as a Senior Advisor to the company's Advisory Board.
