London – Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) continues the expansion of its Financial Restructuring capabilities in Europe with the hiring of Christian Ebner as Managing Director, who will focus on the German and Italian markets.

Aligned with A&M’s expanding EMEA financial restructuring offering, demonstrated by the firm’s recent growth in France, Switzerland, the Nordics and Spain, Mr. Ebner’s joining marks the next step of the firm’s strategic augmentation plans into key European markets.

Mr. Ebner brings 17 years of experience in financial restructuring, debt and merger and acquisition (M&A) advisory. His primary areas of expertise are complex cross-border restructurings, re-financings and reorganisations along with extensive sub-sovereign restructuring experience. He has worked across multiple jurisdictions including on matters that entail connections between and link the London market with Germany and/or Italy.

Mr. Ebner has advised creditors (banks and funds) and borrowers across the capital structure spectrum. Additionally, he has worked with clients in multiple industry sectors including manufacturing and industrials, automotive, retail.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Ebner spent seven years with Deloitte’s Restructuring Advisory team in London, serving most recently as Partner. While there, he built a leading cross-border advisory practice working on some of the highest-profile German and Italian financial restructurings in recent years.
