Val Philippe is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Global Transaction Advisory Group in New York. He serves as US Financial Services industry group Co-Leader and brings nearly 20 years of experience advising private equity firms, alternative asset managers, and financial institutions on complex transactions, operational transformation, and finance matters. Mr. Philippe specializes in financial and operational due diligence, transaction execution, and finance and accounting optimization. He has worked with clients across a broad range of financial services industries, including asset management, specialty finance, banking, insurance, and fintech.

Mr. Philippe has advised sponsors and management teams throughout the investment lifecycle, including acquisitions, carve-outs, integrations, operational improvement, and exit readiness initiatives. His experience spans transactions ranging from middle-market investments to multibillion-dollar platform acquisitions. He has worked closely with investment professionals and executive management teams to enhance financial reporting, strengthen operational infrastructure, improve decision-making processes, and support value creation initiatives in complex organizations.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Philippe served as Chief Operating Officer at Reverence Capital Partners, a middle-market private investment firm. In this role, he oversaw firmwide operational initiatives spanning finance and internal reporting, technology, human capital, and strategic growth planning across the firm’s investment platforms. He also played a key role in organizational scaling efforts, operational modernization initiatives, and third-party vendor strategy. Before Reverence Capital Partners, Mr. Philippe spent more than 16 years with PwC, where he most recently served as a Partner with the Financial Services Deals practice. During his tenure, he advised leading private equity sponsors, asset managers, and financial institutions on buy-side and sell-side transactions, financial diligence engagements, and finance transformation initiatives. He began his career in PwC’s Banking and Capital Markets Audit practice before transitioning to the Deals platform.

Mr. Philippe earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and accounting from the College of the Holy Cross. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the state of New York and serves on the Board of Trustees of St. Benedict’s Preparatory School, where he is a member of the Finance and Investment Committees.
