Shashank Shekhar

With more than 12 years of consulting and M&A advisory experience, Mr. Shekhar has advised financial investors and strategic clients in deal and non-deal scenarios, such as market assessment, target selection, customer feedback assessment, performance monitoring, feasibility study, business planning, business case development and financial model review.
Mr. Shekhar brings considerable experience advising marquee infrastructure funds, private equity firms and banks across North America, Africa and Asia on M&A and debt deals. He has worked with clients in various industries, including waste management, healthcare, industrial manufacturing, power and utilities, real estate, food and beverage, financial services, telecom, technology and education.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Shekhar was part of the Deal Advisory practice at KPMG, where he led end-to-end execution of 30+ commercial diligence and deal strategy assignments, advising on M&A deals valued at $50 million to $5 billion in Canada and the U.S. Most notably, he and his team acted as the lead advisors on one of the largest ever take-private deals in the global waste management sector.
Previously, Mr. Shekhar was part of the Transaction Advisory practices of other Big Four accounting firms, helping investors identify and evaluate assets from financial and commercial standpoints and helping businesses identify and resolve pain points related to organic and inorganic growth.
Mr. Shekhar earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Sikkim Manipal University in India and an MBA from the Asian Institute of Management in Manila and McGill University in Montréal.
