Paul van Beerendonk

He brings more than 20 years of restructuring experience, 10 of which he has spent as a seasoned Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Mr. van Beerendonk has gained hands-on experience in restructuring and turnaround cases, working capital and cash flow optimisation, debt restructuring, and acquisitions/divestments. His experience spans the food and beverage industry with a focus on bakeries.
Most recently at A&M, Mr. van Beerendonk worked on a large corporate restructuring project for part of a NYSE listed company. His responsibilities included assisting in the sales process of the company, setting the new strategic sales perimeter, defining the restructuring plan, introducing financial KPIs and implementing a 13-week rolling cashflow model.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. van Beerendonk assisted a private equity (PE) house in restructuring a distressed participation in the EMS/LED lighting business. He implemented strong cash management, created headroom with its suppliers and arranged a new financing package. He also participated in the restructuring of a bakery/yeast company, AB Mauri part of ABF, that was struggling with declining sales and had just made an acquisition which needed to be integrated. He focused on achieving the acquisition synergies and restructuring both the sales and support organization to regain profitability.
Mr. van Beerendonk also spent seven years with CSM, a former Dutch listed Bakery company, where he held several finance positions, including CFO of CSM Bakery Europe (€1.2 billion sales). During this period, he worked on restructuring/optimizing almost all parts of the business ranging from the sales organization, operational footprint, purchasing process, R&D/ portfolio optimization and reducing HQ cost levels.
After supporting the divestment of the Bakery division of CSM he became the Global FD of the lactic acid and bioplastics operations of Corbion (CSM). Additionally, Mr. van Beerendonk spent six years as a manager at KPMG transaction services where he worked on numerous acquisitions, divestments and refinancing cases.
Mr. van Beerendonk earned a master’s degree in business economics from the University of Maastricht and spend six months studying at Carlos III in Madrid. A Dutch national, he is fluent in Dutch and English and has a basic understanding of German, French and Spanish.
