Paul Kosturos is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal's Private Equity Services Operations Group. He specializes in finance and accounting, including interim CFO, CAO and Corporate Controller assignments, SEC reporting, external and internal financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting, working capital management, Sarbanes Oxley compliance including internal controls design and process improvements, shared services processing and ERP system design and implementations.

With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Kosturos has worked in a variety of industries including direct marketing, retail, apparel, high tech, manufacturing, telecommunications, energy, and professional services. His experience also includes eight years of public accounting experience where he specialized in audit and tax compliance work.

Most recently, Mr. Kosturos served as Interim CFO and Secretary of Harry & David, where he was part of the turnaround team from A&M. He was responsible for the general improvements in the finance and accounting departments which included new reporting tools for internal and external reporting, forecasting, budgeting, cash management, working capital and a new accounting close process. Significant improvements and cost reductions were made in a variety of functions companywide including gross margin improvements and SG&A cost reductions.

Previously, Mr. Kosturos served as Interim CFO of HMX Group, the largest U.S. maker of men’s tailored clothing. There, he implemented various process improvements including a new shared services environment versus independent finance organizations, new working capital tools which lead to improved cash flow, a new budgeting process and a new streamlined close and management reporting process.

Before joining A&M Mr. Kosturos was the Vice President and Corporate Controller for JDS Uniphase (JDSU), a billion-dollar telecom company. When he joined JDSU, it had recently failed a Sarbanes Oxley audit and completed a $700 million dollar acquisition. He was hired to correct the internal controls of the company, hire new accounting staff and integrate the latest acquisition. responsibilities included corporate accounting, internal and external reporting, technical accounting, global shared service centers, ERP implementations and upgrades, Sarbanes Oxley compliance and reporting packages to the Board of Directors.

Prior to joining JDSU, Mr. Kosturos held senior-level financial leadership roles at Calpine Corporation, BrightStar Information Technology Group and Quicknet Technologies.

Mr. Kosturos earned a bachelor's of science degree in accounting from the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of California.
