Nathaniel Hays is a Senior Director in Alvarez & Marsal’s Transaction Advisory Group in Mexico City. He brings more than eight years of experience in transactions and consultancy, providing buy- and sell-side due diligence services to private equity funds, search funds, and corporate clients. 

Mr. Hays specializes in key transaction analyses including quality of earnings (adjusted EBITDA), working capital, free cash flows, and debt and debt-like items. He has worked with clients in various industries, including consumer products and retail, energy, manufacturing, financial services, telecommunications, and petrochemicals. Mr. Hays has worked on cross-border transactions in Mexico, the U.S., Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Peru.

Mr. Hays’ notable engagements include managing buy-side due diligence services for a private equity fund in Mexico during its acquisition of an equipment leasing company; buy-side due diligence services for a public company in Mexico pursuant to its acquisition of a chain of pharmacies in Chile and Colombia; and buy-side due diligence services for a public company in Mexico related to its acquisition of petrochemical plants in Brazil.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Hays was a Senior Manager in the Transaction Advisory practice at EY Mexico, where he worked with public clients on transactions throughout Mexico and South America.

Mr. Hays earned a bachelor’s degree from Santa Clara University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude; a master’s degree from The University of Edinburgh; and a master’s degree in management from King’s College London. He is fluent in Spanish and English.
