Michael Halliwell

He brings more than 22 years of financial advisory experience and has specialized in the information technology, healthcare, life sciences and communication industries over the last 12 years.
Mr. Halliwell has a broad range of relevant experience including: fairness opinions in support of pending transactions to satisfy the fiduciary obligations of key business decision makers; solvency opinions supporting recapitalizations, restructuring, strategic mergers and leveraged transactions; valuations of technology, healthcare, life sciences, information and communication business interests for mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and corporate restructurings; analysis and valuation of emerging technologies and in-process research and development in the information, communication, healthcare and life science industries; valuation of intangible assets such as patents, trade names, trademarks, technical know-how, workforce-in-place, in-process research and development, technology, customer relationships, strategic agreements, franchise rights, content and other intellectual property.
He also provided business advisory services to several development-stage companies, which included assisting management with the development of strategic business plans, as well as forecasting and analyzing business value drivers such as sales growth, operating profits, working capital investment and fixed capital investment; buy- and sell-side assistance to numerous public and private companies involving deal pricing, deal structure, negotiation, and due diligence procedures on transactions; and valuation of preferred stock, options, forwards, swaps, bonds, convertible debt, derivatives and other hybrid securities.
Before joining A&M, Mr. Halliwell was a managing director with Taylor Consulting Group (TCG) for more than nine years. He joined TCG from KPMG, where he worked for eight years, ultimately as a senior manager, heading KPMG’s regional valuation services information, communication and entertainment practice. He started his financial career at Merrill Lynch as a currency trader.
Mr. Halliwell earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Auburn University and an MBA from Emory University. He is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) and is a member of the American Society of Appraisers.
