Markus Lahrkamp is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in New York. He is the leader of A&M’s Commercial and Operational group in Private Equity Services and one of the head developers of A&M’s proprietary Rapid Results Program™, which he continues to lead. Mr. Lahrkamp is also experienced with cost optimization and other consulting approaches.
With more than two decades of consulting experience, Mr. Lahrkamp brings a wealth of expertise in top-line revenue and margin optimization, performance improvement for private equity owned manufacturing, distribution and services companies. He also has significant consulting experience with large US-based and international clients, focusing on their short- and long-term performance improvement needs.
Mr. Lahrkamp’s experience spans the whole private equity funds life cycle, including pre-acquisition diligence, post-acquisition performance improvement, and exit readiness for portfolio companies. He has participated in over 100 engagements, driving significant value for his clients. While Mr. Lahrkamp usually acts as the lead for consulting engagements, he also provides interim leadership to companies when needed.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Lahrkamp was the President and CEO of both Arthur D. Little, Inc. and Droege & Comp. He built and led these companies’ private equity practices in the U.S. and Europe, focusing on due diligence and value enhancements for private equity-sponsored portfolio companies. Prior to his consulting career, he was an accountant with the national real estate practice at Pricewaterhouse in Atlanta.
Mr. Lahrkamp earned an MBA from the University of Muenster in Germany. He is an accredited CPA in the State of Georgia.
