Marcie Qian is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Tax in Shanghai. She specializes in China tax advisory and compliance.

Ms. Qian is familiar with the tax environment in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and has over 15 years of experience providing tax advisory services to private equity funds, multinational corporations and domestic companies. She provides M&A tax advisory services, including tax due diligence, tax structuring, tax model review, transaction documentation review and deal negotiations.

Ms. Qian also provides general tax advice and tax compliance for both corporate clients and individuals. She has worked with clients in various industries, including manufacturing, real estate, technology, media, and telecom (TMT), retail, automotive, chemicals and pharmaceuticals.

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Qian worked in EY Shanghai for 12 years in the business tax advisory group and transaction tax group.

Ms. Qian also worked on tax structuring and post-deal group reorganization. She provided PRC tax due diligence and tax structuring advice to private equity funds investing in Chinese properties, and advised domestic groups with outbound investments in global companies in other jurisdictions.

Ms. Qian earned a bachelor's degree in money and banking from Shanghai International Studies University. She is a member of CPA Australia and a China Certified Tax Agent.
