Lakshman Lakshmanan is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Consumer and Retail Group in Chicago. His primary areas of concentration are supply chain strategy, operating model design, network design, inventory and operations improvement. He has worked with clients in various industries including consumer goods, retail, oil and gas and chemicals.

Mr. Lakshmanan brings more than 15 years of consulting and industry experience and has led engagements focused on supply chain strategy and implementation. His notable assignments include developing and implementing a multi-year network transformation and supply chain strategy for several consumer goods food and beverage manufacturers; implementing network integration and distribution footprint transformation for a chocolatier with three major sub-brands; leading an inventory improvement initiative for a luxury cosmetics client; implementing a rapid S&OP process at a beverage client; and managing an assessment to improve supply chain costs and 3PL strategy for a pharmacy retail client and a D2C nutrition business.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Lakshmanan was a Principal in the Strategic Operations practice at Kearney. Previously, he was a Group Manager of Distribution and Transportation within the supply chain division at Target, where he developed and implemented multiple operational improvement initiatives through advanced analytics across supply chain, stores and merchandising functions.

Mr. Lakshmanan earned a dual master’s degree in management sciences and chemistry from Birla Institute of Technology, and a master's degree in operations research from the University of Delaware.
