He specializes in pre- and post-transaction assessment, program management and performance improvement. His primary areas of concentration are due diligence, synergy and standalone cost analysis, and post-transaction integration, planning and execution.
With more than 25 years of experience in carve-out and merger integration in IT, back office and supply chain / manufacturing, Mr. Sampson brings executive leadership and business transformation experience. He is an expert in leading clients through transformative events such as separation, integration, ERP selection and implementation, organizational change, and other strategic projects.
Mr. Sampson has led teams of private equity (PE) and corporate clients across the food and beverage, financial services, market research, consumer electronics, manufacturing, records management, healthcare, automotive and aircraft, cosmetics, metals, utilities and casual dining industries. He also brings industry leadership experience in manufacturing, distribution and B2B service companies. Mr. Sampson has managed P&Ls and multi-site operations, led organizational change and business turnarounds, and was responsible for integrating acquired businesses and expanding into new markets.
Mr. Sampson’s notable assignments include his role as Leader for a PE-backed carve-out of a leading frozen bakery and dessert company from a Fortune 100 corporate parent to a new standalone company. He has also led the integration and synergy realization project for a PE-backed market research and consumer insights company as well as a PE-backed global satellite communications provider.
Additionally, Mr. Sampson served as Interim Senior Operating Manager for a leading global PE firm, responsible for performance improvement efforts for portfolio companies in the grocery retail, security / risk management, apparel manufacturing and timeshare industries. He also served as interim Program Management Office (PMO) Director for an event management and presentation services company, establishing an Enterprise PMO and as interim CIO and Integration Management Officer (IMO) for a leading casual dining restaurant franchisee. Led the execution of the 100 Day post-acquisition plan focused on back office functions, including the integration of core IT systems and future state organizational plans.
Mr. Sampson earned a BSME from The University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Chicago - Booth School of Business.
