His experience includes 15 years in industry and more than 10 years in professional services. He has successfully led transformative events such as merger, acquisition and carve-out integration; business performance improvement; enterprise system selection and implementation; growth and cost savings projects; and supply chain and back office operational improvement.
Mr. Sampson has led pre- and post-acquisition integration and performance improvement projects in industries including: food and beverage, grocery, retail, financial services, consumer electronics, heavy manufacturing (rolled steel, iron casting), B2B, automotive and aircraft OEM and Tier 1, cosmetics and casual dining restaurants.
He also has direct industry leadership experience in manufacturing, distribution and B2B service companies. In his roles, he managed P&Ls and multi-site operations, led all functional disciplines as General Manager, led organizational change and business turnarounds and was responsible for both integrating acquired businesses as well as expanding into new markets.
In some of his recent assignments he has: served as Interim Senior Operating Advisor for a leading global Private Equity firm and as Interim CIO and Integration Management Officer (IMO) for a leading casual dining restaurant chain franchisee. In these roles, he led the design and execution of the 100 Day post-acquisition plan, focused heavily on back office functions including the selection, integration and go-live of core IT systems and future state organizational plans. He also served as Interim Program Management Office (PMO) Director for an event management / presentation services company, establishing an Enterprise PMO and leading several critical programs from inception to completion.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Sampson’s career included senior leadership positions with Crowe Horwath, Recall ($400 million global records management company), Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and Avon Products. He also spent nine years in operations management with General Mills in a variety of manufacturing, operations, warehousing and performance improvement leadership roles.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and an MBA in finance, operations and HR / IR from the University of Chicago. He also is a Six Sigma Green Belt and is a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
