Johannes Burgheim
With over two decades of experience, Mr. Burgheim has successfully managed more than 50 cross-border restructuring and transformation projects, specializing in interim roles and providing leadership on assignments in the technology, chemicals, and mechanical engineering sectors.
Mr. Burgheim’s notable assignments include serving as Chief Restructuring Officer at SGB-SMIT Group, where he supervised global footprint optimization, cash management, and the implementation of an extensive SG&A reduction program. He also recently led the restructuring of a multinational chemicals group, delivering new operating model design, comprehensive cost optimization, and the digitization of the company’s steering systems. Further, he acted as Transformation Officer for the German subsidiary of the world’s largest temporary staffing agency, managing headcount reduction, branch consolidation, and the digitization of business operations.
Prior to these assignments, Mr. Burgheim was responsible for rolling out a new target operating model and reporting system for a private equity-owned software as a service (SaaS) business. Additionally, he served as interim Chief Financial Officer for a chemical industry portfolio company, focused on implementing enhanced reporting and controlling processes, a 13-week cash-flow forecast, and global footprint optimization. Mr. Burgheim also served as Chief Transformation Officer for the German subsidiary of a private equity-owned international entertainment group.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Burgheim was a Vice President with Rothschild’s Restructuring and Debt Advisory unit, leading several high-profile refinancing and financial restructuring cases across Europe. Before that, he was a project leader within PwC’s business recovery services team in Germany, directing major restructuring and cash-flow optimization programs.
Mr. Burgheim earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management and an MBA from the Sydney Graduate School of Management. He is fluent in German, English, and Spanish.
