Jeremy Nanus is a Managing Director with the Alvarez & Marsal Transaction Advisory Group in New York.

Mr. Nanus specializes in providing buy-side and sell-side financial and accounting due diligence and advisory services to private equity and corporate clients. With over 14 years of multinational and cross-border experience, Mr. Nanus has worked with private equity and multinational corporate clients on financial diligence and consulting engagements involving both public and private companies.

Mr. Nanus advises clients on leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations, negotiations of purchase and sale agreements and supporting purchase price adjustments. Additionally, Mr. Nanus has extensive post-acquisition experience working directly with senior executives at his client’s portfolio companies on cost accounting/profitability analyses, preparation of financial statements and related footnotes, forensic accounting studies, research of accounting issues and application of accounting policies, and overall assistance through transaction process for add-on acquisitions.

Mr. Nanus serves clients in a variety of industries including consumer, distribution, industrials, business services, building products and media. 

Mr. Nanus has coordinated and led over 250 engagements since 2005, managing across financial, tax, human capital, IT and operational professional service line teams. 

Mr. Nanus has supported private equity funds including AEA Investors, American Securities, Brynwood Partners, CCMP Capital Partners, Kohlberg & Co., Littlejohn & Co., and Platinum Equity, among others. Mr. Nanus has supported corporate clients including Meredith Corp., Empire Today, The Noble Group, Georgia Gulf Corporation, among others.

He brings extensive experience in analyzing quality of earnings and cash flows, quality of net assets, working capital requirements and trends, and analyzing stand-alone costs associated with carve-out acquisitions. 

Mr. Nanus earned a bachelor's degree in Applied Economics and Management (with concentration in food industry management and accounting) from Cornell University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
