Jeremy Nanus is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Transaction Advisory Group in New York. He specializes in providing buy- and sell-side financial and accounting due diligence and advisory services to private equity and corporate clients.

With over 18 years of multinational and cross-border experience, Mr. Nanus has coordinated and led over 475 engagements, managing across financial, tax, human capital, IT and operational professional service line teams. He advises clients on leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations, negotiations of purchase and sale agreements and supporting purchase price adjustments.

Mr. Nanus has extensive experience in analyzing earnings quality and cash flows, quality of net assets, working capital requirements and trends and in analyzing stand-alone costs associated with carve-out acquisitions. Mr. Nanus has worked with clients in a variety of industries, including industrial products and services, media and entertainment, consumer products and business services. He often works with private equity and multinational corporate clients on financial diligence and consulting engagements involving both public and private companies.

Mr. Nanus has extensive post-acquisition experience working with senior executives at his client’s portfolio companies on cost accounting/profitability analyses, financial statement preparation and related footnotes, forensic accounting studies, research of accounting issues and application of accounting policies, as well as overall assistance through the transaction process for add-on acquisitions. Private equity funds he has supported include AEA Investors, American Securities, Clayton Dubilier & Rice, CCMP Capital Partners, Kohlberg & Co., Littlejohn & Co., and Platinum Equity.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Nanus worked with KPMG’s Information, Communication and Entertainment audit practice.

Mr. Nanus earned a bachelor's degree in applied economics and management from Cornell University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
