Jens Adams is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Restructuring in Munich. He brings more than 12 years of experience in corporate restructuring, business planning, cost reduction and performance improvement as well as investment banking. He has worked with clients across a range of industries including retail, wholesale, telecommunication and medical devices.

Recently, Mr. Adams led the Project Management Office for a German fashion retail company. He was responsible for the identification and implementation of performance improvement initiatives comprising revenue stabilization, headcount reduction and SG&A cost optimization measures. He also developed different exit scenarios for the shareholder.

In addition, Mr. Adams worked for a global operating retail company. He was responsible for the implementation of a 13-week cash flow forecast, the cash management and the determination of the required financing in Central Europe. In addition, he supported the management during the sales process.

Previously, he led the wind-down of a distributor of quality industrial maintenance, repair and overhaul products in the Nordics. He was responsible for the development and execution of a wind-down plan as well as the calculation of the respective wind-down cost. In addition, he supported the management team during the sales process of parts of the business and developed a stand-alone business plan for the remaining business.

Mr. Adams led the performance improvement of a German trading company for medical devices and acted as Interim CFO. He was responsible for the business planning, the implementation of a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast, the development of improvement initiatives (EBITDA and working capital) and the implementation of a project management office. He also implemented a sales monitoring tool, adapted the financial fact base and reworked the management reporting.

Before A&M, Mr. Adams spent six years with UniCredit in Munich, where he most recently served as a Vice President in the Equity Capital Markets department. At UniCredit he was responsible for the management of transactions, preparation of relevant marketing documents as well as financial, business and commercial due diligence.

Mr. Adams earned a master’s degree in business administration (Diplom Kaufmann) from Katholische Universitaet Eichstaett-Ingolstadt. A German national, he is fluent in German and English.
