Mr. Jones brings to the Private Equity Services team over two decades worth of relationships and business development experience within the financial community.
Mr. Jones’s area of expertise was refined over many years of working alongside some of Wall Street’s most reputable firms. This experience is the catalyst for partner-level relationships within the financial sponsor universe where his alliances act as a new source of assignments and other value-added opportunities associated with them.
While at A&M, Mr. Jones has successfully helped deploy the firm’s vast pool of functional and operational experts on value creation opportunities at private equity (PE) portfolio companies. Most recently, Mr. Jones helped identify an opportunity to successfully execute a financial sponsor’s pre-acquisition diligence strategy for a $1.5 billion leveraged-buyout which required a significant transformation process. The A&M team conducted a comprehensive internal and external review of the target’s operations during the pre-acquisition phase that lead to the implementation of several value creation initiatives including headcount reductions, realignment of senior management and the board, consolidation of manufacturing and distribution operations, IT optimization, refocusing on profitable SKUs and post-acquisition margin improvement. These cost-takeout initiatives and re-engineering processes resulted in enhancements to gross margins and SG&A across its global platform and have helped improve EBITDA by over 50 percent over the PE firm’s three-year investment period.
Prior to A&M, Mr. Jones was a Managing Director in Global Capital Markets at Donnelley Financial Solutions (DFS), formerly a subsidiary of RR Donnelley. There, Mr. Jones’s focus was on the investment community where he offered a diverse software product mix to support high-yield, IPO and M&A transactions. During this time, Mr. Jones secured and worked on very high-profile deals such as AB In-Bev’s acquisitions of Anheuser Busch and SABMiller, MF Global IPO, Michael Kors IPO, Ferrari IPO, GE divestitures of NBC and GE Capital (Synchrony Financial) and GE acquisition of Baker Hughes, among others.
When Mr. Jones isn’t consulting on corporate transactions, he serves on the Board of Directors for the Cardinal Shehan Center of Bridgeport, CT. Previously, Mr. Jones was the Co-Chair for the Consulting Advisory Board for Youth I.N.C in New York City. Mr. Jones has also served as the lead Advisory Board member helping steer TapDynamics through its early growth stages.
Mr. Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Oregon.
