Ichiro Suto

Mr. Suto’s primary areas of concentration are tax advisory for cross-border transactions, financial products, M&A, divestitures, and various other tax matters, including the establishment of robust international tax structures for multinational enterprises.
With more than 30 years of tax advisory experience, Mr. Suto has provided tax advice on various cross-border transactions, supported the implementation of the Authorised OECD Approach to calculate income attributable to permanent establishments, and provided structuring advice for both inbound and outbound investment funds, including real estate funds, hedge funds, private equity funds, infrastructure funds, and distressed debt funds. Mr. Suto also supported the implementation of the global minimum corporate tax for Japanese multinational enterprises.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Suto spent 12 years with EY in Tokyo, where he served as Financial Services Tax Leader, International Tax and Transaction Services Leader, and Base Erosion and Profit Shifting Leader in Japan.
Mr. Suto earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Hitotsubashi University. He is a member of the Japanese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (JICPA) and is a licensed tax professional in Japan. He also teaches at Hitotsubashi University.
