Heather Huff is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Public Sector Services in Phoenix. Her experience includes conducting federal and contractual compliance reviews, as well as clinical and operational efficiency reviews of managed care organizations leading to improved vendor performance.

With more than 17 years of Medicaid consulting experience, Ms. Huff has developed enhanced processes for contractual oversight and monitoring of states’ contracted vendors. As part of an external quality review organization team, she has assessed MCO leadership and organization, care coordination and case management programs, quality management and improvement, provider management, claims and encounters systems, performance improvement projects, performance measurement and reporting. She has leveraged her expertise in performance measures, such as HEDIS, CAHPS, CMS Core Measures Sets and AHRQ measures, to develop value-based contracting and quality performance models.

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Huff spent 16 years with Mercer Government Human Services Consulting, where she most recently served as a Principal leading an EQRO contract. Her responsibilities included contract management; leading annual managed care organization compliance reviews; readiness reviews; and annual reporting to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Her additional projects included waiver evaluation design and analysis and focus studies to inform the public and legislature about managed care and health outcomes.

Previously, Ms. Huff worked in academic settings, including the Master of Public Health Department at the Northeast Ohio Universities College of Medicine and the Institute for Health and Social Policy at the University of Akron.

Ms. Huff earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Mount Vernon Nazarene College and a master’s degree in sociology from the University of Akron. She has co-authored two peer reviewed papers and presented at multiple conferences.
