Navigating an M&A transaction in Latin America can be a daunting task. I work alongside corporate acquirers and private equity investors to execute deals in Latin America, from leading buy-side due diligence engagements for global and local PE firms to preparing carve-out deal basis financials for a sale process. We approach Latin American M&A with great care and diligence, always involving senior professionals and leveraging A&M's operating heritage to bring the most value to our clients.
Fabio Pires is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Latin America Transaction Advisory Group. With more than 15 years of business and transaction experience, Mr. Pires specializes in leading both buy-side and sell-side financial accounting due diligence on behalf of both private equity and corporate acquirers across Latin America.

Mr. Pires’s industry expertise includes education, engineering and construction, manufacturing, industrial products, media and entertainment, and mining. He has extensive deal experience in the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Colombia, among other locations in Central and South America.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Pires was a Partner in Ernst & Young’s (“EY”) transaction advisory services practice based in São Paulo, Brazil. Mr. Pires was the leader of EY’s sell-side due diligence practice in Sao Paulo.

He began his professional career with Ernst & Young’s audit practice in San Francisco. He then transferred to the Miami transaction advisory practice to focus on cross-border engagements into Latin America. Following this role, Mr. Pires worked in the Los Angeles office where he further specialized in cross-border engagements.
