Mr. Donaire has worked with clients and companies (both publicly traded and private equity-owned) in various industries, including integrated utilities, services, passenger and cargo maritime transportation, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), fashion retail, ceramics, steel, aluminum, and capital goods manufacturing.
Mr. Donaire’s recent engagements include acting as Deputy CFO during a turnaround, leading the 13-week CFF, liquidity management, budgeting, strategy repositioning, operating model design, and business plan workstreams for a specialized services provider company (c.€500 million revenue) in the oil and gas sector. Previously, he led the design and implementation of the transformation plan (c.€15 million in EBITDA savings and c.€40 million in cash and working improvements) for a leading brand in sintered stone (c.€200 million revenue).
Mr. Donaire also led the development of a viability plan for a steel company (~€5.4 billion revenue) undergoing a ~€2.9 billion debt restructuring process under the new Spanish insolvency law and acted as Deputy CRO for the Spanish ferry operator Naviera Armas, (c.€700 million revenue) during its c.€900 million debt restructuring process. He led the business plan development, FP&A, 13-week CFF and liquidity management workstreams. Mr. Donaire has also led cases related to business plan development, value creation plan assessment, working capital improvement and liquidity management for an integrated utility, a steel service center, an aluminum manufacturer and a global fashion apparel retailer.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Donaire served as Project Director with Flowserve Corporation, an NYSE-listed multinational engineering and manufacturing company, overseeing its operations in the heavy industry sector and serving EPC and industrial customers. Prior to this, he worked as Corporate Development Leader with Grupo Gomez Maqueda and advised a foreign banking entity in developing and modeling its strategy.
Mr. Donaire earned a master's degree in engineering from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas and an executive master's degree in finance from IE Business School, graduating at the top of his class. A native Spanish speaker, he is fluent in English.
