During this time, he was responsible for founding and co-leading Tengelmann’s direct investment activities under the Tengelmann Growth Partners brand, where he developed the firm’s investment strategy, built an investment team, executed investments, and drove transformation activities within the Group’s portfolio.

Before transitioning into investing, Mr. Bentrup spent over a decade in corporate finance advisory, working at goetzpartners and PwC. During this time, he specialized in M&A transactions, advising both financial sponsors and corporates across various industries. Mr. Bentrup’s notable assignments in M&A include buy- and sell-side mandates for private equity investors such as Afinum, Aurelius, and IK Partners, as well as strategic investors like BayWa and Georg Fischer. His transaction experience spans growth investments, complex carve-outs, and distressed M&A situations.

Mr. Bentrup earned an MBA from the University of Passau, Germany.
