Alexander Bock

Mr. Bock’s notable transformation and performance improvement work combines hands-on operator experience with a deep content understanding and data driven decision models. He has helped clients with implementing new healthcare business offerings; commercial model and organizational setup for innovation driven acquisitions; revising the commercial model and go-to-market approach; and developing and implementing a valuation based investment approach to guide R&D decisions in innovative life science companies.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Bock led the CEO office at Novartis and worked closely with the senior executives and the board. Before that, he led organizational and performance turnaround for a medium-sized Novartis company, delivering significant organic growth with three successful innovation launches using a revised operating model, improving cost structure significantly.
Previously, Mr. Bock led the regulatory and business model turnaround for a medium-sized medtech business. He has performed many due diligences on healthcare and life science targets from vendor and buyer perspectives, applying advanced analytics both as a BCG consultant and as an independent advisor.
Mr. Bock earned a medical degree from the Universities of Leipzig and Zurich; an MPA from Columbia University; and a master’s degree in public health (concentration in economics and politics) from Columbia University. He is the author of various peer-reviewed scientific papers and a book on sports therapy in internal medicine, and has taught healthcare economics to executive students in New York.
