Ajay Raina is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal's Consumer and Retail Group in Chicago. He focuses on implementing enterprise-wide performance improvement initiatives that drive both top- and bottom-line impact.  His primary areas of concentration are performance improvement, mergers and acquisition, and rapid-cost resets. 

Mr. Raina brings  extensive experience to complex situations and has worked closely with executive teams to augment and accelerate transformation initiatives and develop value creation plans. He also works to ensure overall financial and operational visibility to executive leadership and Boards.  Most recently, Mr. Raina led the transformation of a global creative consumer products company, laying the foundation for more than $120 million in EBITDA improvement. He worked closely with the client leadership team to identify and execute transformation optimization initiatives, including SG&A reductions, optimizing supply-chains, leveraging procurement spend, realigning go-to-market approach and reducing product complexity. 

Mr. Raina’s extensive experience on both the buy- and sell-side of merger and acquisition transactions lets him assist executive teams and institutional buyers in mapping out key value initiatives, driving creative synergies and accelerating needed change. He has an excellent track-record of expanding both EBITDA margins and enterprise value. 

Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal, Mr. Raina worked at KPMG and A.T. Kearney, advising both private equity and strategic clients on top-line growth and operational improvement initiatives. 

Mr. Raina earned a bachelor’s in engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) in Pilani, India and an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
