Abir Mukherjee

Abir has worked extensively with multinational and governmental clients across the Middle East and India, supporting them with transfer pricing policies, international tax controversies, and tax compliance. Abir’s notable assignments include: advising the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) tax authorities on several international tax areas; managing transfer pricing policy, compliance, and international tax controversies for major KSA clients; helping to build the transfer pricing framework for one of the largest oil and gas downstream companies in KSA; and securing one of the first Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs) in India.
Prior to joining A&M, Abir worked as a consultant in the international tax and treaties team of KSA’s Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA). Before that, he was a Director with EY’s Transfer Pricing and International Tax and Transaction Services practices, working with clients in the Middle East and North Africa on transfer pricing compliance and policy framework. Prior to that, Abir spent almost nine years with PwC India’s transfer pricing team, advising companies on compliance, frameworks, and APAs, particularly for intercompany financial transactions.
Abir earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in economics from India, with a specialization in quantitative economics and finance. He is an active speaker with and contributor to Big Four platforms and other chartered chapters.
