Robert Storm is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Corporate Performance Improvement practice in New York. His primary areas of concentration include IT effectiveness, operations and service management—turning organizations into customer-focused, well-organized and accountable service providers. Mr. Storm has created IT systems strategies, evaluated new technologies, and ensured effective risk management for various firms and clients.

With more than 25 years of experience running global mission-critical technology infrastructure organizations in the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, Mr. Storm has a proven track record of aligning service delivery with customer requirements. He also has firsthand experience managing large-scale projects, budgets and teams.

Mr. Storm has held an array of positions in IT infrastructure management to drive operational excellence, cost efficiencies and transformation. He has developed and executed divestiture strategies for global firms refocusing on core businesses, led complex infrastructure consolidation across multiple locations, and planned/coordinated all aspects of successful technology migrations including equipment installation, system configuration, data migration, and IT asset lifecycle management.

On a recent engagement for a global retailer, Mr. Storm led an IT spend analysis initiative that identified 35 percent savings on a $100 million baseline. He was instrumental in standing up a shared service center to support the divestiture of five international markets. Previously, at a global services firm, he led a strategy to accelerate digitizing IT by ensuring alignment of services focused on delivering business value. The deliverables included a target state organization model, a transition plan and a prioritized transformation roadmap with required governance and communication strategy.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Storm spent four years at Bloomberg, where he led Enterprise Solutions Operations with staff in London, New York and Tokyo. He led issue remediation efforts and implemented service management principles and controls to better manage environmental risk and ensure higher service availability target achievement.

Mr. Storm earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in computer science from Hofstra University.
