Despite the evolution of AI technologies, the use of AI in trade secret matters needs to be balanced with expert review. In the IAM interview, Michael Sugrue said, “AI just can’t grasp human behaviour or intent, which is the hardest part. It can’t interpret context, timing or legal relevance. That all still requires human judgment to solve the puzzle. So, the robots haven’t replaced us just yet!” With an increase in investigations and litigation into trade secret misappropriation, experts are critical for deciphering the context and legal implications behind human behavior. According to Vishal Oza, “At the end of the day, technology is only part of the equation; the people side will always matter.”
