Elizabeth Arrendale is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Tax in West Palm Beach. She is A&M’s Global Corporate Transaction Tax and Advisory group leader. She specializes in corporate tax planning, with a primary focus on domestic and cross-border acquisitions and divestitures, tax-free spinoffs, joint ventures, and internal restructuring.

With nearly 20 years of M&A tax experience, Ms. Arrendale has advised public companies, private equity sponsors, and portfolio companies across the transaction life cycle. She leads post-acquisition integration planning and internal restructurings to efficiently utilize tax attributes—including stock basis, earnings and profits, net operating losses, and tax credits.

Ms. Arrendale’s notable work includes numerous acquisition and disposition transactions across the consumer products and retail sector, including carve-out sale and tax-free spin-off transactions. She has significant experience in apparel and footwear, food and beverage, and traditional retail. She partners with organizational stakeholders such as legal, finance, and corporate development to align tax strategies with broader business objectives.

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Arrendale spent 19 years with EY, most recently serving as the Americas Transaction Tax Advisory leader and the Global Transaction Tax Advisory Center of Excellence leader. Her leadership responsibilities spanned strategic planning, client relationship management, team development, risk oversight, compliance, and financial performance. Ms. Arrendale also served on the governing board of EY in the US, overseeing strategy, risk management, audit quality, regulatory compliance, and financial results. Ms. Arrendale is a frequent instructor and panelist at tax training events and conferences on topics such as M&A trends, tax-free reorganizations, liquidations and distributions, diligence and structuring, transaction costs, and various consolidated return regulations.

Ms. Arrendale earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Seton Hall University, New Jersey.
