Hamburg & Madrid, 26^th June 2025 -- Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) announces the appointment of two Managing Directors, effective immediately, to the growing roster of talent in its Infrastructure & Capital Projects practice (A&M INFRA):

• Matthias Laue joins in Hamburg to lead the practice in the DACH region
• Gabriel Valtueña-Ramos joins in A&M’s Madrid office to lead the practice across Iberia

Iberia and DACH are already established, core markets for A&M. The senior hires are in response to growing client demand from clients in both regions for sector-specific, operational leadership across the infrastructure value chain, including in power, energy, transport, construction and public-private partnerships (PPPs). The moves also build on sustained global expansion of A&M INFRA over the past year, including in India, Saudi Arabia, the UK and US.

Mr. Laue brings more than 30 years of experience in transaction advisory and dispute resolution within the power, heat, and gas sectors. He joins A&M from 15 years with AFRY Management Consulting, where he served as Global Head of Transaction Advisory and Head of Dispute Resolution. Having advised on many landmark transactions (market, commercial, regulatory, technical, and ESG due diligence) in the European power, heat, and gas markets, he has also given expert witness testimony in a large number of high-stake disputes. Recognised as an energy expert by Who’s Who Legal/Lexology, earlier in his career Mr. Laue held expert and management roles at Fortum Oil & Gas and in ExxonMobil.

With 25 years’ experience in the construction and infrastructure industry, Mr. Valtueña-Ramos joins A&M from construction firm CABBSA where, as interim CEO, he redefined the company’s strategy to drive greater growth and diversification. He previously co-led McKINSEY’s Construction & Infrastructure practice in Iberia for seven years. Before that he spent nearly 14 years at CINTRA (FERROVIAL), working on the development, financing, construction, and operation of major international infrastructure projects, including eight years as CEO of several CINTRA subsidiaries in Spain, the UK and Australia. A qualified civil engineer, he began his career at construction companies such as DRAGADOS, ACS, and SANDO, where he was involved in the execution of major infrastructure projects.
