Tariq Hameed

Mr. Hameed has held leadership positions in Asia, the U.K. and the Middle East in transaction banking, wholesale banking, consumer banking and private banking, with specialist experience related to small and mid-sized enterprises (SME) and real estate sectors in both conventional and Sharia'a-compliant finance.
Mr. Hameed has led large and complex business transformation projects for banks, non-bank financial institutions and public service organizations across multiple disciplines including digital transformation, transaction banking, mortgage finance, SME banking and wealth management. He has also worked on designing and implementing developmental initiatives funded by multi-lateral development organizations, including mid-income housing finance and financial inclusion. Mr. Hameed has also spearheaded the development and launch of financial institutions.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Hameed was part of the senior management of a large, multilateral development financial institution group in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. There, he spearheaded the development and launch of a $350 million SME fund, a $350 million mortgage finance company and a $100 million construction finance company. He also advised Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) governments on their SME and housing strategies and finance programs as a specialist in developing strategies and transaction structuring.
Previously, Mr. Hameed was a member of the core Management Committee of the leading property finance institution in the UAE, playing a key role in establishing and developing its business plan and portfolio and spearheading the origination team. Prior to that, he held leadership positions with Standard Chartered Bank, serving on the Global Transaction Banking team tasked with rolling out a global proposition across key markets, heading the Middle East Wealth Management business in Dubai and heading the World Corporate Group in Pakistan.
Mr. Hameed received an MBA in marketing and finance from the Institute of Business Administration in Pakistan. He is a U.K. national.
