Matt Porter

Mr. Porter’s practice centers around complex tax, regulatory and corporate governance issues related to compensation and benefits, with an emphasis on corporate restructuring/turnaround and M&A. He regularly advises clients on the development and implementation of equity incentive programs and non-qualified deferred compensation plans for corporate and pass-through entities.
Additionally, Mr. Porter specializes in transaction-related tax services, including Section 280G “golden parachute” calculations, due diligence, tax structuring and post-merger integration for public and private companies.
Mr. Porter earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and BBA in finance (magna cum laude) from Texas Tech University and a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas; a Certified Executive Compensation Professional through the WorldatWork organization; and Chair of the Dallas Bar Association’s Compensation and Benefits Section.
