The Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, in addition to addressing gun safety, also includes major new funding opportunities in excess of $2 billion that state and local governments can leverage to expand access to and the quality of mental health services. These provisions have the potential to dramatically accelerate state and local efforts to improve behavioral health care.
