20-year consulting veteran Manas Tamotia joins A&M to lead Private Equity Performance Improvement in SEAA

Singapore – September 05, 2022 – Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has appointed Singapore-based Manas Tamotia as a Managing Director to lead the Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice within its Southeast Asia and Australia division.

Mr. Tamotia’s joining represents SEAA’s next strategic step forward and demonstrates the firm’s commitment to, and investment in, expanding its geographic and practice footprint across Asia Pacific (APAC). A&M’s expanded SEAA offering aligns with the firm’s recent office openings in Malaysia, Australia, Singapore and Indonesia and sets foundation for a future office in Vietnam.

Mr. Tamotia brings 20 years of strategy and mergers and acquisitions experience, across the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), United States, Australia and New Zealand, to A&M. With both advisory and operational experience, Mr. Tamotia has worked with private equity, venture capital, sovereign wealth funds and family offices, as well as corporate buyers, undertaking pre-deal diligence, target identification and post-deal value creation efforts.

Mr. Tamotia has worked across multiple industries, including retail, technology, industrials, social infrastructure, healthcare and education. His buy-side commercial due diligence and sell-side “storytelling” experience spans more than 120 transactions.

Previously, Mr. Tamotia served as the Head of LEK Consulting’s Singapore office and was instrumental in building its ASEAN practice. He also served as Chief Strategy Officer with a grocery e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia, and was part of the corporate strategy and M&A team at Constellation Energy in the US.

Mr. Tamotia advised a sovereign wealth fund-owned building materials client on its international growth strategy, developing a game-theory-based framework to study industry consolidation scenarios and the optimal outcomes for the client’s shareholders.

Mr. Tamotia earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and information systems from the University of New South Wales and an MBA from the Wharton School.
