UK Property Update - Opportunities for Middle Eastern property investors in UK markets in 2022 and how to capitalise on them
International buyers are returning in earnest to the United Kingdom property market with Middle Eastern and Asian buyers representing a significant proportion of international demand.
The UK has an enduring reputation as one of the world’s most attractive and stable real estate investment destinations. Whilst international travel restrictions have made dealmaking challenging, it is estimated that Middle Eastern and Asian buyers now represent over 35% of international demand. With a marked increase in deals already visible, pent-up demand is expected to continue to unravel in 2022.
The range of asset classes – including residential, offices, student accommodation and logistics – is complemented by regional diversity with cities such as Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham just as likely to feature alongside London as top picks for Middle Eastern investors.
Alvarez & Marsal, Jade Merchant Bank, Trowers & Hamlins and Hawksford hosted a webinar discussing the current UK real estate landscape, how international investors can access relevant opportunities and the related commercial, legal and structuring considerations necessary to undertake a successful deal.
