Amsterdam – November 12, 2018 – Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has launched its Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) service line in Amsterdam with the appointment of Jessika van Veen as a Managing Director. The appointment signifies A&M’s commitment to growing its European presence, in response to increasing demand for solutions to portfolio companies facing operational challenges.

Ms. van Veen will lead A&M’s Private Equity Services for the Benelux, but her remit will cover a wider European client base. She brings over 20 years of delivering top line growth and bottom line improvement in private equity-backed environments. In the last seven years she has held positions at the Managing Director and CEO levels across a wide range of industries, including telecoms, ecommerce, retail and real estate.

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. van Veen served as a member of the extended Leadership Team at Staples, where she led the team in improving sales effectiveness and operational excellence across Europe. She has also served as CEO of IWG The Netherlands, where she oversaw the turnaround of the business to growth and profitability in less than two years. Before Ms. van Veen has had various general management and executive roles where she for example worked on the integration of three telecom operators, resulting in the up a newly merged, private equity-backed, Dutch telco Ziggo.
