Alvarez & Marsal Strengthens Global Transaction Advisory Group With Appointment of Two Senior Directors In London And Frankfurt

London – Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has announced that Neil Tyler and Elmar Hiltner have joined as Senior Directors, within the Global Transaction Advisory Group, based in London and Frankfurt respectively. Their appointments align with the Global Transaction Advisory Group’s expansion strategy, as recently demonstrated with the opening of a Stockholm office, and address market demands for independent professional services offerings amidst pan-European regulatory change.

Mr. Tyler brings over 20 years of experience working on a range of cross-border transactions for some of the world’s best-known businesses, predominantly in the consumer products and retail sector. He counsels clients on financial due diligence issues and advises on the financial and accounting elements of complex M&A transactions. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Tyler established and led Deloitte’s Transaction Services practice in French-speaking Switzerland. He also served as the Head of Retail for Deloitte in Switzerland. Mr. Tyler is fluent in Spanish and French.

Mr. Hiltner has extensive experience advising private equity clients and global corporates on buy-side and sell-side transactions. He has worked across a range of industry sectors including automotive, manufacturing, healthcare and chemicals, counseling clients on both mid-market and large multinational transactions. Previously, Mr. Hiltner served in senior roles in Deloitte’s and Grant Thornton’s Transaction Services practices. He is fluent in German, English and Italian.

David Evans, a Managing Director and European Practice Leader with A&M’s Global Transaction Advisory Group, said, “Neil and Elmar’s appointments reflect A&M’s commitment to continuing our European expansion strategy and to meeting changing market needs. Their individual and combined sector knowledge and cross-border transaction experience will strengthen our pan-European offering and our ability to help clients navigate challenges in a shifting environment.”

Jürgen Zapf, a Managing Director with Alvarez and Marsal GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft and co-leader of A&M Germany, said, “The transaction process is becoming increasingly complex given cross-border considerations, new regulatory requirements and due diligence challenges. Neil and Elmar know how to develop solutions that will keep pace with the market to drive change and maximise value for our clients.”
